National Instruments PXIe-DMM5101 PXI Digital Multimeter Bundle
The PXIe-DMM5101 (Part Number 867115-01) from National Instruments is a complete PXI Digital Multimeter bundle designed for automated test and measurement systems. This complete solution includes a PXIe-1083 chassis with 5 slots and a high-performance PXIe-4080 digital multimeter module. The main feature is that you can control the instrument directly from a laptop using the Thunderbolt 3 connection, allowing you to combine several benchtop instruments into one integrated solution with the PXI platform. The test setup is easy to use while still keeping the timing and trigger features that PXI architecture offers, allowing signals to be sent between different modules through the PXI chassis.
The PXIe-4080 core module is a combination of a high-resolution digital multimeter and a high-speed digitizer in one instrument. The instrument has a resolution of 6.5 digits and can perform a large range of measurements, including AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, 2- or 4-wire resistance, frequency, period and diode tests. In particular, the digitizer function operates at 1.8 MS/s giving fast sequence measurements that have a basic DC voltage accuracy of 25 ppm. The DC voltage range is ± 300V, with a DC current of ± 1A, giving application to various validation operations. The package is supplied with standard accessories such as a Thunderbolt cable, a power cable and a probe set so that functionality can be achieved immediately.
Engineers developing benchtop or distributed validation systems can ideally use this bundle, which enables interactive device testing using no-code software like InstrumentStudio. The remaining four slots in the chassis can be used for significant scalability, permitting expansion of the system using the additional instruments such as source measure units or switches or oscilloscopes, without the need to entirely redesign the system. All this can be achieved through use of the PXIe-DMM5101 Bundle, which achieves a single integrated measurement system providing flexibility and cohesion of measurements, enabling high-accuracy data acquisition and multi-instrument synchronization features needed for complex automated test applications.
